Eating Disorders Team

At MOVE we offer specialised community services for children, adolescents and adults presenting with eating and feeding disorders. Our team includes Consultant Psychiatrists, a Registered Nutritionist, and a Clinical Psychologist and Family Therapist. The service focuses on providing individualised multi-disciplinary assessment and intervention planning.

Our Eating and Feeding Disorder Team works hand in hand with parents to support young people facing challenges in their eating habits, with many presenting with concerns related to the over-evaluation of their weight and body shape. To support the young person and their family, we offer psychiatric consultations, nutritional guidance, as well as evidence-based family therapy approaches for the treatment of Avoidant/ Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, Anorexia and Bulimia.

Our Team also collaborates to offer the most effective treatments for adults with Anorexia, Binge Eating Disorder, Bulimia and Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder, by offering psychiatric and nutritional consultations, along individual psychological support that addresses the cognitions, emotions and behaviours linked to the eating difficulty, as well as family or couple work when needed.

Multi-disciplinary interventions are also offered, as necessary, to support young people and adults presenting with food phobias.
