Mr Mark Piscopo, Counselling Psychologist

Mr Mark Piscopo read for a Bachelor in Psychology (2008) and a Masters of Psychology (2014) at the University of Malta. He also completed a post-graduate diploma in the applications of clinical psychology from the University of Leicester, UK, before receiving his warrant as a counselling psychologist.

Mr Piscopo has substantial experience in the fields of substance abuse, relational difficulties, emotional disorders and psycho-oncology. Currently, he provides individual and group therapy to patients and their relatives at Hospice Malta.  He has also worked in private practice for the last three years, providing therapeutic intervention to a normative population addressing emotional disorders including anxiety, depression and anger issues. He also holds the post of part-time lecturer at the University of Malta, training professional staff and students in the soft skills needed for management and reflexive practice.

His main interests are working with existential anxieties and personality disorders. Mr Piscopo uses an integrative theoretical framework to address client difficulties, drawing upon existential psychology, mindfulness, psychoanalysis and psychodynamic theories to produce personalised intervention for his clients.
