Ms Sarah Vella, Dance and Movement Therapist
Sarah Vella is a speech and language pathologist (Bsc. Hons), dance/ movement therapist (BTD), Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie (HeilPrG) and dance artist/choreographer from Malta, based in Berlin, Germany. She studied Communication Therapy at undergraduate level at the University of Malta (2006-2010) and she has been awarded a Diploma in Dance Studies from Laban Conservatoire of Dance, London.
In 2018, Sarah completed her studies in Dance/ Movement Therapy from Tanztherapie Zentrum Berlin. The main area of research for her final thesis was on the effects of dance/ movement therapy with children with autism. Since then, she started leading various groups and one-to-one sessions in clinics, practices and in special schools, with children and adults on the spectrum and other special needs. She also specialises in working with individuals suffering from mental health issues (depression, anxiety, addiction) and has experience working with this client group in health clinics in Berlin.
Since 2013, Sarah has been working as a speech and language pathologist in private practices, Kindergartens and schools. Her main areas of focus include learning disabilities, articulation and phonological disorders, autism and aphasia, amongst others. Sarah has been invited to teach workshops and give presentations about her work, both as a dance artist and as a dance/movement therapist, in Berlin and Malta.
